I participate in Foodie Pen Pals and I love it! It’s really fun! Just like pen pals before email, foodie pen pals is organized by Lindsay at the lean green bean. Thanks for organizing this! Foodie Pen Pal is an amazing program where bloggers (non-bloggers too) connect and each send to each other some foodie love!
My pen pal this month was Kara from MI, what a great gal! Thanks for the nosh! She sent me some awesome eats, some unique snacks, and something I think we can all agree on: COFFEE!
The pecan coffee was nutty and delicious. I also really enjoyed the edamame as a great snack for afternoons. I could grab a handful with little guilt about what the caloric ramifications would be. Kara shared that she had recently visited the Cape Cod chip factory and those were salty and delicious. She sent along some really yummy trail mix and some smarter snacks that I have been slowly working through as I’m out at schools every day until at least supper time. 4:30 p.m. hits and all I want is something to stop my stomach from rumbling!
If you want to become a foodie penpal, check it out and learn more about it. It’s a great way to connect with other bloggers, check out some of the awesome eats, and have a little fun shopping for your own eats to send to someone. I sent my pen pal two kinds of homemade granola and some energy chunks this month and hope she enjoyed them!
I sent a package to Ashley, what a great gal!
Interested in participating with us? Here are some of the dirty details!
-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)
-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.
-Foodie Penplas is open to US & Canadian residents. Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa.
