I returned from vacation to find quite a few things at my door (besides bills). Stitch Fix time!!!
I had peeked while on vacation and I was excited to see my box at the door when I got out of the car after a 10 hour drive.
I gave ZERO suggestions this month to my stylist and for some reason, they thought I’d cancelled or gone a stretch without a fix because the first line of the style card said, “welcome back to stitch fix!” Uh….get your algorithm right kids 😛
I had pinned a few shirts in the last month or two but truth be told, I’d been busy and pinning and what not is not my priority in life at the moment, that’s what I pay Stitch Fix for.
Anyway, it’s almost back to school time too, so it’s time to think about dressing like a real human once again as well. I took a few minutes when I did get home and went through my closet, taking a quick assessment of what I would need/want/dump. Keeping that in mind, I went through my box. I have almost quit wearing dresses this summer and have switched to linen pants for the most part. I still love a good patterned top and the bags are hit or miss when they send them. Let’s take a look at the box!
STREET LEVEL Kaelyn Laser Cut Two-Tone Reversible Tote- $68
Liked it, didn’t love it. It’s quite roomie and I like the laser cut pattern on it, would have been a “keeper” if it had been a color or something more interesting in the color wheel (the online sample was orange/navy). I may look at it one more time before I stuff the envelope.
MARKET & SPRUCE Sam Hi-Lo Short Sleeve Tee- $44
Cute shirt, but it was just that: a cute t-shirt for $44, not even making my dinner kind of t-shirt. Fit well, was very soft, but just not worth the price. The gray was similar to a hi-lo shirt I received a few fixes back with a cool back on it.
41HAWTHORN Queensland Dolman Jersey Top- $48
I don’t understand why people like dolman tops. They fit weird, they accentuate all my “fat bits” and the sleeves make me feel like I’m ready to fly away. It’s just not for me and it makes me feel awkward.
GILLI Kamile Jersey Ruched Detail Dress- $54
Cute dress. Once again, it accentuated the “fat bits” and didn’t flatter me. It had an adorable neckline that would have been perfect for work. The color was also beautiful, a deep royal blue that would have been great for the start of the semester.
MARKET & SPRUCE Nolen Printed Detail Henley Tank- $54
Jackpot! The best for last! It fit great, had a really interesting pattern on it, and would go with many things for the semester. It’s always nice to find a winner in each box. I have no hopes of ever getting a 5/5 box, but I always consider it a win when at least one item works out. I would consider a 5/5 box a unicorn box, kind of like that “dress” or “top” that everyone wants and calls a “unicorn.”
First world Stitch Fix problems 🙂
Stitch Fix has been a great service for me. I can honestly admit that I’ve cut down on purchasing clothes in general and when I am at Target, I’ll think, “no, a box is coming soon” before I spend money on stuff I won’t wear or just wear a few times. I can honestly say I wear the crap out of my stitch fix pieces. I get compliments on them frequently and the clothes are always interesting and not things I would normally purchase. No pressure either way. Stitch Fix doesn’t compensate me. I pay the $20 styling fee each month and appreciate what they send me.
