Stitch Fix #23-Orange Overload

June greeted me with a leg of travel to the lovely west coast for dry heat, sunshine, and a head cold…the downside of traveling, not sleeping well or enough, and having too big a time is germs. I returned home from my trip and the next day my throat was sore. Oh boo hoo germs, way to ruin a party!

What did cheer me up was sleeping in my own bed and a box arriving when I got home. Betsy came through once again and pushed me to try a few new pieces this box around. Some wins, but mostly pinches on this box. Sorry girl, I still don’t care for the color orange, anything that makes me look like a poet with a shoelace, and skirts. I have yet to keep a skirt.

I also had to buy some staples this month. Target was having a sale on t-shirts so I took them up on their offer. I had been waiting for a good sale since my old v-neck faves were stained, pilled, and looking pretty sad. I had to take the same stance on some new sneakers as well. I had two pair that had hundreds of miles on them a piece and my feet got pretty sore on my last trip. I went and tried some on, scanned the boxes with the Amazon app and ended up saving $15 on a pair. Who would have thought?

Orange. Shebert. Creamsicle. My hate/hate relationship with orange continues. Plus, this wasn’t flattering on me. The back was lovely but this was way too long for me. And, it was freakin’ orange….

Shoelaces. No. Never. And bell sleeves. No. Never. This was too big, too long in the sleeves, and I felt like I should be writing a sonnet. The crinkley fabric, the gauzy feel, it just didn’t do it for me on multiple levels.

Margaret M Kayla Printed Flare Skirt-$64

This skirt had a chance. It fit properly but then I realized one very important fact. I never wear skirts. EVER.

DV8 Darma Fringe Ankle Strap Sandal-$65

ORANGE. FRINGE. Super cute, but in the same color family as the coral/orange colored flats I kept a few boxes ago.

I asked for a bag like this. And I loved it. So I kept it!

Stitch Fix has been a great service for me. I can honestly admit that I’ve cut down on purchasing clothes in general and when I am at Target, I’ll think, “no, a box is coming soon” before I spend money on stuff I won’t wear or just wear a few times. I can honestly say I wear the crap out of my stitch fix pieces. I get compliments on them frequently and the clothes are always interesting and not things I would normally purchase. No pressure either way. Stitch Fix doesn’t compensate me. I pay the $20 styling fee each month and appreciate what they send me.
